Never trust a salesman.Most of them have no clue what they are talking about and will say anything to make a sale.

Thanx I figured this wasnt true , but they have alot less weight with 210 ponies hmm.

less torque. hp is just one factor. a brand new eclipse weighs 3,053 pounds. a couple hundred less than a mustang, but not nearly enough to make up the lack of power.

stang the eclipse comes in sohc 141, dohc 140, and when they turbo em they go to 220... i'm not sure what the turbo costs but i think it costs more than a GT which stocks 250 hp...i know the eclipse is lighter, but its also more expensive, and gt has the looks, btw not fake billet fuel doors...

The car she was looking at had the dual fart pipes , and new AEM intake , lowered and new rims ( you know a ricer lol) The salesmen said that that car would burn mine , and now if my sister gets that car i wanna race her up the track , just for bragging rights.</P>

there is no chance on that. i have a 98 with some mods including 3.73 rear end, transgo shift kit, cai, 70mm tb etc and i burned my gest friends 02 v6 his is a 5speed and has a decent kick on the highway but weak thru 1 and 2

the only moderately decent eclipse is the gsx awd one and i never said it had bang for buck either...it's a ripoff.

you could call the salesmans bluff ... take your sister to the dealer in your gt and tell him your sister wants proof before she buys, see what color he fades to when you get there and he is on the spot ... <IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0">
