anyone have a GT with a shaker hood? if so, how did you hook up the CAI without losing the functionality of the shaker??

I beleive the shaker kit comes with its own intake... so you replace your CAI with the shaker's new intake... the shaker does not take the air directly into the motor, it takes it to your intake.... look at a pic of a mach 1 or under the hood of a gt with a shaker and youll see what i mean...

But it might not replace your CAI... im just assuming it does.

I don't have a pic of the mach with the hood up, but actually there are 3 tubes. Thru the "normal" intake, which on mine is a steeda rai, thru the shaker, and there is another that runs down the front of the engine from the shaker and connects to the heat shield on the steeda.

The "functionality" of the shaker is not what it appears you are thinking it is. The fast majority of the air going into the engine is not coming from the scoop.

On a converted GT I would imagine that some of your intake parts are changed out, but at some point it could remain the same (MAF to filter perhaps). I know someone here has a GT with a shaker, maybe they can get some pics up here for ya.

thanks for the help. i bought the car with the shaker already on it. it's different from the mach 1. i don't have the pipe that goes down the front of the engine and they basically cut the air filter housing and put "puddy" to hold the shaker piece. if i knew how to post friggen pictures on here i would show you exactly what i'm talking about. if anyone has a gt with shaker and cai, can you plese post a pic so i can check it out.

All you do to post pictures is go to http://www.photobucket.com, create an account, upload your pics from your computer, and then copy the "Img" tag that is right below the photo and paste in in your post. Its easy.
