Default Firming up the shifts!

All I really want to do with my 03 is firm up the shifts. If I pickup a cheapass superchips or hypertech tuner off ebay, would it get the job done?

do you have an automatic or a 5 speed?? if automatic, get a shift kit, if 5 speed then get a short shifter. Not too much. do not buy anyhting from ebay mechanical wise. wheels and tires are ok, whifters are ok, if you get too internal, you will get screwed

Its an auto, I would do a shift kit. But, almost every tranny shop has quoted me $350-400 just to install, including flush and fluid. The kit by itself is $115 and most people also say go with a cooler which will be even more..

A shift kit would be the best bet, but if you dont want to spend the money, just get an SCT tuner and tweak the shifting through there. Also you'll pick up some extra ponies from the tune.

well hp isn't cheap. i know that a auto with a shift kit is better than the manual. I would go with it still. You will eventually wanna get it anyways. start right and you won't be disappointed

If you firm up the shifts without the kit, won't you blow a seal? (a friend told me this, thats why I never did it)

Anything is possible of course but I know a few local guys running SCT tuned tranny shift points in new edge GT's such as our cars, and neither one has had a problem. I know 3 for a fact, I run with them just about every weekend. The 3 cars are a 2000 GT, 01 GT and an 04 GT

if your between 30-60k, you need your tranny flushed anyways (should be done every 30, but if not done by 60 then leave it alone) so it might be worth it to do it anyways

What PSI do they use?
