Default tire size question

if i get 18x10" wheels american muscle.com recomends a 285/35/18 size tire. Can i get wider? or is that a stupid question? (the width is the 285 right?) and if i can go wider...how wide can you go on a 10" rim?

You can go 295/30/18 with no troubles at all! Very expensive though. Yes 295 would be the width in mm's. That's 29.5cm And the 30 series would be the percentage of the width. So you would take 295mm's and divide that by 30(%). That's how you get that ratio for the sidewall height and the wider tire you get the lower percentage you would need to get the same height!
