I am going to be installing a chin spoiler in the next day or two and need to know where I can safety place the floor jack to jack up my stang in order to put it on jack stands, also where do I put the jackstands. PICS HELP!
Here is how I do the front. Notice I duct tape a rubber sanding disk holder to prevent scratching the car.
What about the back? I need a point near the middle so I can get it up and jackstands under it quickly.

Well, I thought you just wanted to raise the front. Anyway here is how I raise the entire rear.

Ford says not to place jack under the pumpkin but I do and so do others. Ford doesn't explain why you shouldn't. Its up to you if you want to do it. Just be careful. I had no problem at all.

The jack stands go under the axle (red dots) and the jack goes under the differential (red arrow).

Bad part about the New Edge chassis is that that particular cross member is not flat...it is angled and the jack will slide off.

I had heard this info about not jacking up the rear under the pumpkin, but i do it anways. I found the reason for this on a bullit site: it is due to a 1 degree negative camber thats built into the rear axle. It allows it to track correctly, and i read that if stressed, this built in camber could be negated.

So where do New Edge stang owners jack the front up?

Go from the side behind the front wheel.

As for the rear, jack placement under the pumpkin is the critical part, especially on the 8.8. There just isn't as much flat space for the jack to use as there is on the 8" and 9" rears.

So the 99-04 k members are supposed to be completely flat, level with the ground? Mine's def not and my jack slips a bit when I jack the front end up on it. Its angled slightly upward. I always thought my motor was at an odd angle. JFC, I love my car...[:@][:@]

Mine's angled up like a skid plate, and has been since it was new. I have used it, but don't anymore. Just not worth the risk of sliding off the jack.
