PMS dyno results anyone? any info on engine mgmt for NA 4.6SOHC
I have an 00 mustang GT 5spd w/DSS pro mod motor. compression was upped to about 9&3/4:1. car has ford shorty headers/CL80mmMAF.MAC70mmThrottleBdy/BassaniX-pipeW/Cats/singlechamberflows/pullys/alum driveshaft/4.10gearsShortThrow/king cobra clutch, plus full race suspension(maxmotorports-torque-arm)and brakes(road race set up w/battery in trunk and car lightened up a bit) the car is making 250HP and 300ftlbs torqe at the ground with a programmable auto logic chip(custom programmed at apex while on dyno). DSS told me of a similar set up to my car but with stage 1 cams and he is making 320HP at the wheels NA. DSS thinks PMS would get me at least another 25 to the ground over the autologic. i am looking for a little more HP for the track 300at the wheels would be very very nice! any help or input would be appreciated.

so in summary, here are the things which are upping your horsepower
improved compression
headers / high flow x pipe / exhaust
80mm MAF, 70mm TB
pulleys
and you got a tune.
i'd say 250 rwhp is a low for this setup (did you dyno on a 100 degree day?) what size injectors are you running? is your intake complete (did you replace the factory air tube, and what about the upper plenum?), are you running a k&n filter?

Sounds about right to me, he is running shorty headers through cats. And if he has his stock plenum and intake tube on the TB and MAF arent able to help much. Whats your 1/4 mile et and trap MPH?

i thought i would be around 260-270 rwhp with my set up. the morning i dynod it was only in the 70s. injectors are stock, i have the C&L kit with the conical K&N and heat shield, but i have the stock air tube(have C&L inlet tube but wont fit under my strut tower brace. i was debating on larger injectors and new plenum as next steps but wanted to see if the PMS would make that much of a difference.

So you dont think additional tuning with PMS should get me anywhere without replacing plunum and getting rid of my cats? I have never dragged the car, strickly auto cross and road course track days. i like to turn going real fast

don't know, i doubt your cats are causing that much of a restriction as they are aftermarket units. a new plenum / air tube would get you some great gains (~10-15 horses) with what you already got. at some point, probably now, you should upgrade your fuel injectors and then get a tune if you are serious about wanting to make some power.

a nice port job and a set of cams, 24# injectors, an upper plenum and some L/T's with a nice SCT dyno session will give you the #'s you are looking for.

Are you planning to drag race? With a bottom end like that, I would go nitrous. Like a 150 shot or better. Of course you would need a different suspension setup for drag racing. If you're going to stick with the roundy-round tracks, cams, injectors, and tuning would (imo) be best. Cams, injectors, nitrous, and tuning would make your car (with that sickass DSS motor) scream... Heck while you're at it do the plenum and throw in a bullet manifold setup...
