Need Help! Mech Gauges

Default Need Help! Mech Gauges

I bought the Equus Temp and Oil PSI gauges.I know how to do the oil gauge install and keep the stock gauge working,My question is,is the somewheres eles I can mount the temp sensor for the gauge other than the OEM location.I trying to keep the OEM gauges working...i know that they are crap.

yup

on the drivers side of the block in the middle outside there is an alen head plug im sure will be a bitch to do while exhaust is on


unscrew it and install sensor there

Yup I just looked and does look like it will be since i can hardly see whats in that area.Does it hurt to not use the stock sensor and gauge...can i just leave it dead and use my aftermarket gauge instead....meaning will i have any probs?will the motor still run right?or will it caus ecomputer probs?Thx for the help.

im not totally 100% sure but the PCM will most likely use the stock sensor to adjust fuel and such during starts

There is no need to disconnect your stock gauge when installing an aftermarket oil pressure guage. Do as the tac2cul said and use the hole on the bottom just under the oil filter.

i installed my aftermarket oil sensor last weekend along with Fuel pressure sensor and all i have left is water temp....

I MAY get around to TRYING to install mine this weekend.....its about time i getrrrrrrrrrr done

Ok I got another question for Tac.There isnt a allen screw there ..but there is a hex bolt and I beleive this is the motors drain plug for the water..is this what u r refering to?thx again. this nut is also near the firewall in the middle of the block.

yeah dats what i was referring to hex/allen whatever...it is a drain but who uses it?lol not me and its a typical place for an aftermarket gauge cause from i hear its the same thread as the sensor itself

i got a pic somwhere let me find it...its on the passenger side as well
