Default this tool with a civic wants to race

Theres this guy in my car club that has a civic si thats dynoed at 190 whp and his best track time was 15.1 @ 97 mph, and he says that his car just blows on the track and dominates on the street and he has beaten all kinds of mustangs. I told him as soon as my clutch is broken in I will race him, do you guys think that somehow he will be able to beat me.

ol, if it werent for my car not being able to launch worth ****, i'd kill you on the drag strip. FWD + 17's + street tires = horrible combination at the strip. My car hooks like hell on the street though, and I'll put any amount of money in my bank account that it would beat yours. What was your trap? I know a billion hondas that had similar/worse setups than me that ran 15's on street tires and 13's on slicks. If I really cared enough about drag racing, I coiuld swap out my entire brake system and buy slicks and run them, but it really doesnt matter to me. The only time I've lost traction is on the strip, and I dont give two ****s about the strip. I've proven plenty of times that my car is a ton faster than it shows on the street, and thats all that matters, since thats the only place it gets driven.

Yes, I've beaten a fair share of GT's on the street. You drive a stock mustang dude, its not ****ing God. And I'm making 190 WHP, maybe you dont understand, but S2k's make about 200 whp, and they weigh more than my car. So why wouldnt my car be able to beat yours?????

What kind of motor does he have? WHat year is his car?

Lets just go with something I know a little bit about. A H22 with some bolt-ons should be able to dyno at that number. While some people have gone low 13s or slightly better with a build like this it requires a heavily stripped car with a lot of suspension work. Seeing how he ran a 15.1 it shows that he doesn't have this. Race him and you will probably win[8D]

Well he drives a honda with a stupid swap big deal. How about you throw a secret 75-100 shot on there and show him how its really done.

Dude race his ***, f*** up his day, and let him go home crying that he can't beat you on the street or the track. I hate those dudes in there Hondas that think their economy cars actually...fast..

Well according to Edmunds a 2000 Si weights 2601 pounds against a S2000s 2809 of the same year. With all the extra crap he has in the car his weight argument is out.

It will probably be a good race if both of you can drive. Just race him and find out. Even if his car turns out to be faster than yours its not nearly as much as he thinks it is.

Bet him 1000 bucks that you will win so the nitrous kit will pay for itself!

So he's got a 2000ish SI coupe with an USDM Integra TypeR block and JDM Civic TypeR head. Running USDM Integra TypeR cams (hurting his HP, he could easily get more HP out of his setup with some Skunk2 cams). His setup pulls very well on the top-end. I think those cars weigh about 2700ish lbs. I hate to say it, but if you're all stock I think he will take you. Stock you're about 225RWHP and weigh in at like 500-600 lbs more then him. If his rear is gutted then its pretty quick.

Guy around here has a 2000 SI with just all boltons and a gutted rear interior and he beats WRXs (which are pretty close to our cars stock for stock). He's only got about 150ish FWHP too...just to give you an idea of why I'm saying this 190FWHP civic will probably take you.
