Traction Control On/Off?

Traction Control On/Off?
Just picked up a Mach 1 recently, and have the option to turn traction control on/off
What exactly does the T/C do? Does it cut off tq, or just retard the timing?
Is it better to race with it on or off, or does it even make a difference

i turn my off even in the rain, there is nothing worse then trying to correct a fish tale and you cant cause the timing is retarded and the breaks are on, i even have it off in the snow

when i first bought my car, i used to turn it off every time i got in, but kinda a hassle....now i just turn it off if i have a girl in my car, or i plan on racing someone.....if you wonder what it does, have it on, floor it and pop the clutch...kinda a ****ty feeling

when i first bought my car, i used to turn it off every time i got in, but kinda a hassle....now i just turn it off if i have a girl in my car, or i plan on racing someone.....if you wonder what it does, have it on, floor it and pop the clutch...kinda a ****ty feeling

I noramlly have a habbit of turning mine off once I get in my car. Most of the times its useless and annoying IMO, but I do admit a time or 2 when i've forgot to turn it off in the rain...its been quite helpful.
