From what I understand, inspection states are making a move to a more limited inspection, with OBD to start with. If OBD passes 100% you're good. They started doing that here in NC. They wont do a visual inspection or anything crazy like that if your diagnostics checks out fine. One of the reasons why I got the SCT. You can read/clear codes, and turn off your rear o2 sensors. I passed with LT headers and off road x. Kinda got that look though, like "you know I can smell your exhaust, I'm not stupid." Oh well, new rules mandate these limited inspections. Good luck, go with off road, sounds better IMO.

knoxville has no kind of law stating you cant remove you cat's and they dont have emissions checking. but i think its a federal law to keep cats on the car. no shop around here will take them out.. so hell, i took em out myself.. =). they wouldnt even do it if i supplied the new X pipe. didnt take to long.. yet i have LT's that hang down, i dont have to reach up to my headers.

racer: you got longtubes installed, but they wont put an off road x? thats kinda funny. Correct me if I'm wrong but i thought long tubes were illegal for road use in any state.

OK for the record - there is a tremendous difference between catted and non catted - performance and sound wise .... but how do I get away with it - EASILY - nobody is going to look under your car during inspection anyway.... and if they do stomach the 30 bucks and go to another station who doesnt care and have them sign off on it --- BTW - nobody can tell you dont have cats unless they jack the car up - they only know otherwise if the check engine light is on - so do your MILs and youll be fine

in az they are very hard on emissions at least in tucson and iv had several cops pull me over for it trying to say that it has them then i just tell them to look for them self none of them have. i want x pipes so bad but thats holding me back alot
