Default SN-95 4.6 ---->5.0

Since i know an engine swap is in the future, it just crossed my mind, instead of the 4.6 swap why not a 5.0. the SN95 94-95 had them and they are not any power difference then what i have now. I have hered they are easier and cheaper to mod.(correct me on that). My question is can it be done and how hard would it be? Smart move?

i thought it would be an interesting for a 96 to have a 5.0

Let me know what u think??

If you don't have to worry about emission inspections, go for it. It'd be an easy swap...

actually i think the 5.0's in the 95 year car is actually a lil less in the power range then say a 98 4.6, why would you want to switch to a 5.0 and have the headaches of having to do the harness and all different when you can just get say a 98 gt engine.

It's an easier swap than putting in a DOHC (as long as you not worried about emissions). Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can buy 94-95 GT's pretty damn cheap. I've seen them go for $3000 and sometimes under. Just look around.

I think It would be uniqe, the swap would have its troubles because of the tranny and wires but it would be worth it i think....+ parts are half off the cost of 4.6 in some cases and 5 0s are just plain beast

No. You don't have to. Your car will still be computer controlled as a 96 but with PI internals.

Why on earth would you ever swap a 96 GT engine for a 98 GT engine?
