Air Silencer
i hear everyone talking about unplugging their air silencer. What does that do, how do you do this and why?
thanks chris |
RE: Air Silencer
the air silencer is at the end of your intake it is the black rubber snorkle ppart that goes into the fender wall. take it off.

RE: Air Silencer
i want to take it off but why? what does it do?
|
RE: Air Silencer
It quiets the sound of the intake air going into the engine, and helps to pull only cool air in from the fender. It is a big restriction, and what it does to help get cold air in hurts performance because the snorkel is so small. Either trim your old on so the hole is bigger or remove it all together for more performance.

RE: Air Silencer
pull the air box off and pull the rubber piece off from the hard plastic piece.
|
RE: Air Silencer
it also makes a cool swoosh sound when u jam the throttle. some people like it others don't.

RE: Air Silencer
ya i took it off and i can hear some difference but really no performance difference, is it good for the engine to have it off??
