No its the aftermarket OEM improvement. He doesnt have pi heads or anything and hes probably just going to sell it when im finished putting it on. I will go check a few auto parts stores for that tool. still looking for a real good walk through if anybodys got one.

ORIGINAL: sanitarium16

That intake manifold better be a PI manifold!!! Its a direct swap and you will gain a quick 15HP! Dont use the same crappy NON PI Intake manifold!
Its NOT a direct swap unless you buy the adapter kit. That costs considerably more than an NPI manifold with the metal crossover.

Silva, it really is not that difficult of a swap. Those walkthrough's that I posted the first time will help, and the rest really isn't that difficult. If you've worked on import engines before like you said, it shouldn't be a problem for you.

CLICK HERE

this'll show you npi-->pi intake swap, but you can pretty much skip over things that won't apply to you.

I'm a bit of a noob, but what's Pi mean? (polished intake?) What is the advantage?

Thanks!

pi = performance improved

99-04 GT's have PI intake/heads/cams compared to 96-98 GT's who have nonPI intake/heads/cams

Yea the only special tool you will need is those fuel line tools. Ummm besides that I can't think of anything. Obviously a torque wrench too.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'cowl' assembly... elaborate

THe cowl is the plastic piece below the wipers blades. In one of the links you sent me it mentioned taking off the cowl on the crown vics.

Oh yea sorry, you're right I do remember them mentioning that. That's not necessary on our cars.
