"Not to our knowledge" or "Not to my knowledge" is the dealers way of saying "Yes it's been wrecked"

Anyone who has even 2 weeks of experience selling cars or appraising used cars will be able to pick out a repaired car from 10 feet away.

It takes me about 20 seconds to learn if a car has been smashed to hell & back, or just had a bumper repainted.

7 records found on carfax. So it may have been munched.

either that or it is a civic with a nice looking body kit.
Yeah, I'm the second owner on mine, it has 8 records, but is 100% clean, no accidents, no minor problems even. The number of records doesn't always accurately say the condition of the car.

Yea... it had me wondering cuz no dealership would sell that car that cheap if it was in perfect condition without any blemishes. It would have went for at least 25-28k if something wasn't up with it.

It was wrecked. He sold it so it didnt matter to him anymore. EVERY time I've been told this, the carfax either said "Totaled" or "Stolen/strip recovery"

thats not that low at ... 25 - 28k - you have to be retarted to pay that - hell I found an 03 cobra vert with 18k miles the guy was asking 24,900 - which I would pay 24k for. - the car above is worth 20k to me - so its close to its real value - I would not pay more than 21k ... but then again i wouldn't by any mustang thats not a convertible

you have to remeber that the car is about 4 years old - not to mention a body style change has occured - so while we know its better than the new ones - that doesn't mean you should pay artifically high prices

the dealer value on 99-04 mustangs has gone up! since the 05+ came out - thats just stupid - and consumer need to ban together and tell these wack jobs to shove it up their asses - dealers today are completely full of sh it.

I have the carfax report in front of me right now. If you're wondering, it had one owner in Illinois, he had it for 4 years and 3 months. It has the little "Carfax 1 Owner" stamp on it. It is also garanteed by carfax not to be junked, flooded, hail damage, etc. and it doesn't have an odometer problem. It also says that there was no accident damage reported at all. So if anyone is wondering about the carfax report, it's clean.

On another subject, if anyone needs a carfax report, let me know. I have my account with them until Nov. 4. Just PM me if you need one.

I did a quick search on traderonline.com, and the lowest price I found on a 2003/04 cobra was 21,998. The car had 53k miles, which is way to high for me personally to buy. Most of the cars were at least 26 grand plus, with mileage much less than 53k. There were a few for about 24 grand or so, but mileage was not listed. The mach 1 and the cobra seem to hold their value really well.

I do not think the prices are artifically high, I think they just hold their value well.

I seriously do not think the values for the 99-04 cars have gone up. That does not make sense to me. Outside of the special models (Mach, Bullitt, Cobra) these seem to be getting cheaper by the day. (the used 05-06 cars are getting VERY cheap. There are several with low miles in my area that are about 20 grand.)

YMMV.
