Need Help... Complete rebuild
Alright, well i have been in the market for a mustang the past couple months and i have been looking at 94 95 5.0s. My plan was to buy one and get the trickflow h/c/i combo and try to get it in high 12's low 13's.
Here is my situation now, a buddy of mine has a 95 5.0 and the engine caught on fire last night. the engine isnt salvagable. He is going to sell me his complete rolling body for 200.
Before i put any engine or tranny in, i was completely beef up the suspension but am not to sure what all i need. I want to completely re-due the suspension in track-ready parts. Im not sure whats brands, what parts, or where to get them at.
Also what about transmissions? No sure what transmission is a good one to use on track/street cars.
Thanks

depends on your budget. But start with. 31 spline axles, a posi. upper and lower control arms. look at maximum motorsport control arms and something like a steeda adjustable uppers. or even look into some wolfe racecraft control arms. since its going to be race only get sperical bushings and get the pinion angle set to about -1. weld the torque boxes and grab some battle boxes.
full-length subframes will be a must.
I would go ahead and get some eibach drag springs. and some adjustible shocks and struts. look at qa1's for some of the best, or look at strange shocks/struts(noiser, but they work good)
edit: there's several other options like getting a k-member for the front for some weight reduction. you can also run coil overs in the back also.
and skip the DR's if you going for a track car
choose a gear that you will be trapping close to redline, but also take into account if you are going to be adding performance mods later
