Default Tranny Swap?

I have an 03 auto GT... I love the car to death and am slowly building it up. Eventually, I'm going to need to replace the transmission to be able to deal with the power I hope to put on it. My question is, is it possible to swap out an automatic for a manual? Possible to somehow get a clutch pedal in there?

Or am I going to hafta go with like a C-4 automatic.....

Yeah youll need to get a clutch/brake pedal assembly from a JY or the dealer, 4bolts hold it to the firewall. Its really easy.

if you are putting all that power into the car, and your planning on racing it, why do you want a 5-speed. You would get much better, consistent times, with well- built automatic with a stall. ANy true drag racer, will tell you to go with an auto

Im not swapping it out to race...I'm swapping it out because every other car Ive owned was a manual, and I prefer driving stick anyways. Driving an automatic I feel too detached from the car. I'm not building my stang up to beat others...I'm building it up because I want my kids to look at my car the way I look at my dads 57 Corvette. He bought it young, and souped it up to his liking and now its his baby, and he still drives the thing from time to time. Regardless of the type of transmission I put in, I'm going to need to change it eventually, so I figured why not get in the manual....and specifically I was looking at a tremec T-56...not a five speed...

ya its great....almost everyone in my family has something to do with cars....my brother is semi-pro right now. I'm trying to get serious with, but its hard with school and work. I bracket race my formula whenever i can. Its a lot of fun, but too much money.

OK here goes AGAIN, on a manual car the clutch and brake pedal are bolted together to an assembly, you can probably find one at a local junkyard. Youll also need the trim bezel for the base of the shifter handle, shift boot, the shifter handle, a bellhousing, the trans, possibly a trans crossmember, a clutch cable, an ECU (if you plan on leaving it EFI), youll also need a flywheel, clutch kit (pressure plate t/o bearing, clutch disc and a pilot bearing/bushing). There you go.
