4.10's VS. 3.73's

RE: 4.10's VS. 3.73's
3.73's are hardly even worth it, you really wont fell any change from stock gears, 4.10's youll feel better acceleration but gas mileage on the highway is going to be pretty bad. id so go with 3.90's. they're the best of both worlds. youll feel the acceleration but wont get hurt on gas mileage. also with 4.10s youll be doing a lot more shifting.

RE: 4.10's VS. 3.73's
Is your car a 5-speed? Not sure when 6-speeds came out. I have an automatic and got 4.10's. I turn 2500rpm's at 65mph, 2950rpm's at 70mph.
If you know what gears the car has now and what it turns at a given speed in 5th gear I can estimate the rpm's for you for the ame speed with a couple differernt gearsets. I could have gone with 4.30's myself. Mark

3.90s are 100 rpms diff between 3.73s and 4.10s, not worth it, go with 4.10s, unless you never go on the track or highway go with 4.30s

listen.. you have a cobra.. (yes to everyone it is a 5 spd, as are ALL cobras).. anyways our 4vs love the revs and they react to it very well.. dont fear the gear man.. go 4.10s at least, or go home. 4.10s will not give u bad gas milage on the highway.. i know people that have gotten 23-25 mpg on long range trips..either will 4.30s(but they will lower ur mpg more then 4.30s but not significantly). 4.30s are still doable as a street gear.... 4.56 is pure drag, although ive talked to some people who will still drive thier car with these on the street.. alot of our year cobra owners go with 4.10s and then feel 4.30s and decide to switch because they dont think 4.10s are enough...
dont fear the gear.. 4.10s or 4.30s... in december im doing gears and i was going to go with 4.10s and i might even get 4.30s now... not too sure.. but im also going to swap out my axels while im at it(31 spline)..
AND!!! to clear up HPoooser's post or whatever.. 3.73s you will be able to feel the diff, but its not significant enough... 4.10s will help with acceleration obviously as will any high gear. No it will not make highway MPG pretty bad.. do some reading and check ur info before you tell someone that k thanks. cuz its wrong. yes you will be shifting more, but driving through town and whatnot you can skip 1st gear, and in my case ill prolly skip 2nd a few times.. as i normall skip 1st with stock gears now.. and ive also started off skipping 2nd and 3rd(didnt notice at first but when i did i started off normally haha)..so what does this say? get 4.10s if not 4.30s
