Default Cams or PI head swap?

Hey, I have a 96 GT and im considering the PI swap but would like to keep my option open for a blower down the road and I know with the 10.5:1 compression id only be able to run low boost. I was wondering what other alternatives there are to make my head breath better without the high compression and what kind of powere I could get? Any info on this helps and I love to learn new stuff all the time!!

Save for a blower, the power gain of a pi swap would be nice, but it will cost about half as much as a good blower.

Well until you swap out that stock Intake you won't gain much power with any mods. If you want a blower down the road then you could send your stock heads to www.steenracing.com for porting and a valve job...Or if you don't want to have your car down you could buy a set of NPI heads for @ $100 and send then to get P&P'd. Also a PI Intake kit from Livernoise Motorsports with some Crower NPI Blower cams would do wonders.

another thing is i dont wanna keep this car forever, jst wanna have some fun with it, so the blower is a big maybe. would NPI cams and PI intake swap still be a good combo for some power without P&P my npi heads?

just slap in some PI cams, i have a set with only like 50k on them if you want let me know. That would gain you more than non pi cams and a pi intake.

yes the pi intake and pi cams will get you a good 30hp and raise your usable rpm's past 4500 where npi's choke off up to 5800 or so. Getting some comp or crower npi cams will add another 15hp over the pi cams.

so which cams would be best, getin mixed result, non pi cams or pi cams with the stock pi heads and pi intake. Also, i hear certain stages may have a clearance issue with the flat pistons? is this true and will it still all work?

you don't have flat pistons..you have 11cc dished pistons. obviously the aftermarket cam will have better gains but the stock pi cams work well in the npi heads and can be found for under $100...so it comes down to $
