I say just go with an H-Pipe or cross over pipe. Cats are overrated. Just keep 'em for when you have to smog the car.

I do have an X_pipe, but CO requires the cats from the downpipe and also from the x-pipe, so there are four cats required on a mustang. I think i will have to do what you said and have the cats cut off and then re installed when emissions comes around.
