Default Gears

I have a 00 gt and Im thinking of getting some better gears. But my question is what gear ratio should I go with, I am going to put in a s/c later on and Ive heard from people that with the s/c setup I should go with the 3.73's and others say 4.10's would be better. My GT is my daily driver and I commute on the freeway alot so which set up should I go with. Can someone pls help me!!!

Go witht he 373s. I just did 410s in my automatic N/A car and traction is a bitch. 4.10s in a stick with a s/c is really gonna get messy on the street in my opinion

I have 4.10's with a procharger D-1SC. I'm pushing 500 rwhp and I have Sumitomo's you know the crap tires for cheap from american muscle. Yeah I bought them because I thought, Wow what a great deal, mounting and balancing for free with my new rims. Anyway, the grip sucks with them but I only have traction problems when I'm under boost. If you are driving by ford specs to save gas mileage, you should be shifting right around 1,800 RPM which means you won't be under boost, so you wont have traction problems. Another thing you should think about is with more power comes better gas mileage because your engine is more efficient and takes less effort to get the car moving. Of course this only applies to driving responsibly on the street. This however is a total and udder lie once you put your foot the wood, or are cruising on the interstate. I use M/T ET Steets on the track and I have a bit of traction problems even with VHT so I would recommend M/T ET Drags for track use, but first make sure you have at least 31 spline rear axles because with that amount of power your stock axles will snap like toothpicks.

+1. Withougt stickies & the other rear suspension mods teh 4.10's aare a waste. I'm thinking my 3.73's may even be a waste with the stock suspension.
