Default Is this the exhaust I want?

Like a junkyard dog. Loud and mean enough to know somethings there, provoke it and unleash the beast.

Basically I'm after a nice agressive rumble at idle/cruising, but at WOT I want this to be a badass.

I was thinking of an H pipe (aftermarket or stock?) with SLP LM2s. Anyone have videos or soundclips of this setup, mainly revs and drivebys? I tried searching Youtube and Streetfire, and didn't come up with much. I do like what I hear, I just want to hear more of it.

Or if you think there is a better setup for what I'm after just let me know. I cant go O/R either because of emissions.

EDIT: Dont mind my sig, I'm finally getting a GT.

i have lm2's on my stock exhaust, they are quiet with a nice burble/rumble down low and at idle but when you want to be heard you will have no problem

clip in sig.

edit :: if you want just LOUD and RAW id suggest lm1's

I dunno I think the SLPs sound border line retarded. The system im lookin at is an SLP x-pipe with either FLows or MAC catback

How hard is it to remove the mid pipe? I've got no experience... But it seems that's how I can get away with an O/R mid, just swap before inspection.

Are you putting this exhaust on your v6, or are you getting a v8 and doing this setup or some sort of setup?

In My Opinion....... If you want the BEST sound.... Flow 40s with a O/R H-Pipe makes the best sound.

For Performance, Mac Prochamber with SLPs or Bassani, or even the Mac Cat Backs performane very solidly. They arn't as loud or have the DEEP rumble at an idle but from the dyno results that I've seen, they are about 3 to 4 rwhp better.

I would simply drop my jaw if ANY aftermarket catback can make 4 WHP more than another.

Your lucky to see 4 WHP total from a catback on a stock car. Even a full boltons car is not gonna get much out of just a catback. The stock mufflers/pipes are not THAT restrictive. The gains in the exhaust come from better flowing cats, the xpipe scavining effect, and replacing the stock manifolds.

Buy your catback for sound, not power.

Edit: realise that you will not get that real loud idle sound without a chambered muffler. IMO a chambered muffler sounds SO much better at idle (x2 with a cam). On the other hand, also IMO straight thru mufflers like magnaflows etc sound x10 better at cruise/WOT.

And there is definatlyi something to be said about having a decently mild exhaust note at highway speeds. You can hold a conversation at normal level in my car at 80+ MPH. No DROOOOONNNNNEEEE. Not to mention the sound level of the straight thrus at WOT...

(intake boltons, BBK LTs, BBK o/r X, Magnaflow catback, stage 2 cams)
