Default Volant Cool Air

First off let me say, I did a search on the subject...only to find dozens of "similar" posts about "what are the best cold air intakes" and all that....it appears theres a new one every other day, so sorry if this one seems like another, but I couldn't find any mention of the Volant Cool Air Intakes.

Anybody have one? I've been doing research and not only impressed with the performance gains, but I love the looks...kinda stock looking, without all the chrome, and colored stuff, which is whats turned me off from the BBK fenderwell and similar setups

Right now I have a K&N filter strapped on where my old box used to be...I don't have the stock air box, and don't like the setup the way it is now (too much hot air, plus its getting dirty quickly exposed like that)

Is it worth the price though? ($277 is the lowest I've found) Can I just bolt that puppy on (without my stock air box) Do I need a tune?

Any info is greatly appreciated

worth the price? probably not. from what all ive read on here, no intake is worth the hundreds of bucks companies want. From what I've gathered, one intake is as good as the next. Personally, I am going to buy the JLT RAI. Its relatively cheap, and I like the looks of it.

I did, however, have the Volant CAI on my 98 Chevy S-10. I noticed a very very VERY slight gain in pick up, which was probably all in my head. It did sound cool though.
