Been working on the car all night, now I'm in tears
Stupid fuel filter [8D]
Actually, stupid me. I hadn't dripped one bit until I somehow didn't pay attention to the fact that I tilted it towards my head to slide it out, and in doing so, dumped the entire contents on my head. Ahh well, it was my first time changing that fuel filter so I needed to get gas dumped on me just by principle I suppose.
Anyway, got the tie rod ends done and like magic (plus all the work I did), no more squeaks! Tie rod ends were pretty simple. I know I read about a bunch of people who said they just tapped them out with a hammer... yeah, well mine were a little more defiant I guess. I opted for a quick trip to Advance Auto Parts to get the $10 fork to get it off. I need to start building my collection of car tools anyway. Anyway, got that back here and with a little persuasion the tie rods popped right out and I put the new ones on.
The tie rods and fuel filter are the only two things that I managed to do tonight though because of a combination of it being the first time I've done any real work on my car, and having my birthday dinner, cake, and a few gifts with the family. She's parked for the night, alignment tomorrow morning bright and early, then it'll be back in the garage to get back to work. I love working on my car though. I wish I could just change and fix things all the time (minus the spending money part). I really need to do a project car next time.
