SPEC Aluminum Flywheel on 99 Cobra
I am putting a SPEC aluminum flywheel on my 99 Cobra and I noticed that americanmuscle.com didn't include new crank bolts. I called a few parts stores around here and I don't think they have the right bolts. Anyonw know any tricks here? Were there supposed to be any that came with the flywheel that were special to match the surface of the new aluminum?
Any input will be welcome. Thanks.

RE: SPEC Aluminum Flywheel on 99 Cobra
Just out of curiosity, is there any real benefit to an aluminum flywheel? Is it really worth the extra 100 bones? I'm doing my clutch in a few weeks, and I think I'm just going with a new stock flywheel and a king cobra clutch kit. Any recomendations?

your rpms will go up much quicker.......
top end speed will be added
when you let of the gas you will slow down alot quicker....
heavy flywheels keeps rotation longer due to weight
light slows down alot faster nothing to drag along
i've heard they mess up your tranny i cannot justify yes or no becuase i have never done it

I heard all of the above - except ive never heard of them damaging the tranny - however I heard it actuallys make your car slower bc of the lack of inertia... again I dont know bc I havnt done it either - we need a pro here to educate us

Ok guys, focus... The bolts?
On mine, it will help. Alone, the aluminum flywheel won't help you much. Add a slew of bolt-ons and you will see the advantage. Here is the list:
BBK LP Headers
Short H-pipe w/cats (for long pipe headers)
Flowmaster Am Thunder Cat-back w/40 series
Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter for 99 Cobra
H&R Sport Spring set for Convertible
MM Urethane IRS rear spring isolators
MM Urethane front spring isolators
Billetflow IRS Brace
Steeda Underdrive Pulleys
Motive 4.10 Gears
JLT Performance CAI
Diablo Sport Tuner
SPEC Stage 1 Clutch Kit
SPEC Billet Aluminum Flywheel
The final parts will be installed in about a month. The clutch, flywheel, and the gears are going in now. After their break in period, the rest will go on. Then to the dyno for a tune.
