Big PITA. I would assume you have to unbolt the flywheel from the transmission and pull them apart to look.

If there isn't much difference in pedal effort between your new clutch and the stocker in your 03 something is definatly up.

I have taken a 03 cobra out on test drive, and honestly the stock clutch did not feel any tougher (not much anyway) than my stocker in the GT. There is simply no comparasion between pedal effort stock and with the stage 3 (at least in my car).

Did you get an adjuster and quadrant? Does it have a very small area between engaged and disengaged? I know when mine is out, its OUT. Its like a digital clutch, there isn't any slipping going on. If you are shifting at high RPM real hard there still should be ZERO slip, not like the stocker where it doesn't instantly snap the RPM down when you dump the clutch.

it catches REALLY fast. and hard, much harder then stock. It engages about 1/3 the way down and you can feel it obviously... I dont think it's much tougher then my GT's clutch when I had it. Maybe ill call 2mororw see if they'll drop it for me for free 2morrow since i am questioning thier work... I hate not doing work on my own car... lol

something doesn't seem right. Definatly should be more of an agressive pedal feel than the stocker. IDK what the problem could be though, I don't see how any adjustments could be causing a problem.

Screw it though, if the clutch feels and works good, and doesn't slip, you should be OK. The only thing that would suck is if you did more mods and the clutch started to slip...

Thats what im worried about... I plan on being a member of the 500rwhp club, and while when I go above the 600rwhp mark ill have to upgrade the input shaft, i should've have to do that until I get up around the 600rwhp mark.. and i dont want to until then either... if that breaks then that breaks, but if they put in a different clutch with a inferior torque rating and that brakes im going to be really, really pissed.. if i find out they put something else in, im goin to end up arrested at the Ford Dealership because im goin to lose it there, lol

They would have to have pulled one hell of a shady deal... but if the clutch effort feels like a stock GT clutch SOMETHING is going on. I dunno what, but it should feel much stiffer than that.

It doesn't sound like the adjustment is right, if it's engaging a 1/3 of the way off the floor... At least from my experience, clutches are supposed to engage at the top 1/4, not the bottom 1/3..

I think he is saying it disengages 1/3 of the way down. That sounds about right.

Gotcha, I must've misread that..

Regardless though, don't most heavy duty single plate clutches chatter a bit anyway??
