Low, deep old school sound has Flowmaster written all over it! In my opinion, no muffler or cat-back system sounds better.

I have SLP long tube coated headers - SLP short x pipe - and SLP LMII cat-back...

Sound is throaty and not obnoxious around tound, but LOUD, MEAN, and MENACING when you're on it. A real quality set-up too.

Here is a short clip of deceleration, short cruise, and WOT (only for a couple seconds) of my car. The Exhaust is: BBK Equal Length Headers, Bassani O/R X pipe, and SLP LM2 Catback. I think it sounds ok.

If you want old school sound, you need to get old school on the mufflers.

Purple Hornies would be a good choice, as would just about any glass packs. Moroso Spiral flows are a nice alternative to glass packs. Can't tell you how they sound on the 4.6L, but they sound great with a 13:1 390.

I'm afraid that if you really want the old school muscle car sound, you need to have what they did: big V8's, not a little 4.6 like we have. I mean, they sound great for what they are, but nothing like a big block. They are two different animals.
