Squeaking from Tranny Area

Squeaking from Tranny Area
I started hearing a squeaking coming from my tranny area again. I just had my whole clutch replaced 5-6 months ago at the latest. It only happens when the clutch is out too. If I just barely put any pressure on the clutch pedal it stops. I hope this isn't the throw-out bearing again.....is there anything else it could be? Its not a loud squeak and it doesn't happen all the time. You can hear it outside and inside the car though. And it seems to stop after when I hit 3rd gear, but that could just be coincidence or the exhaust draining it out
BTW its a 99 vert GT 5 speed.

RE: Squeaking from Tranny Area
Just to throw this out there:
When doing a clutch it is important to also change the pilot bearing. If this wasn't replaced, maybe it is the culprit. It is hard to beleive that a new throwout bearing would be squeaking that soon. Unless it wasn't properly installed.
BUT:!!! Here is what I found at an auto repair Q&A page: LQQK
As for the noise, it depends precisely where the noise begins. If the noise starts when you put pressure on the throw out bearing, then it is the bearing. If the noise goes away when you put pressure on the throw out bearing, it is the input shaft main bearing. That would require a transmission overhaul to correct. If they did not lube the shoulder where the throw out bearing rides or the clutch fork pivot, that might make a noise as well. That's about the only times a clutch would make a noise.
I always though it was the other way around, foot off the clutch and there is a squeak, then its the TOB. Any ideas?

RE: Squeaking from Tranny Area
No offense to anyone hear, but when ever someone has a noise comming from the tranny everyone on here just blames the throw out bearing. If you really want to know I would ask a mechanic. Dont get me wrong there are alot of knowledgable people, but it also seems like there are alot of guys that just say the same thing over and over again.

RE: Squeaking from Tranny Area
Mines been squeeking since I got the car with 36,000 miles on it. Gets really annoying but comes and goes. I'm not going to worry about it till I need a new clutch and probably will need a tranny rebuild at the same time, considering the T-45 is garbage. I just figured it was the throwout bearing but who knows with that T-45 piece of crap in there.
