Default Cat-back vs Cat-back and Mid-pipe/Full Exhaust

I am debating whether or not just to get the SLP LMII Cat-back or to shell out another $400 and get the SLP X-pipe w/ cats too. How much more horsepower will I gain with the addition of the mid-pipe vs just the cat-back. Also would headers be hard to install? I have heard that they take a long time but I would probably get shorties as I need to pass MA emissions and am going to install my exhaust myself. What will shorty headers add in HP vs Long tubes?

I didn't even consider a catback until I was able to do the midpipe with the catback.

Headers are supposed to be most unpleasant to install but are a good foundation for future mods.

I know long tubes suck but are shorties that hard? Also are the SLP cat-back and mid-pipe just bolt on or do they require cutting and welding?

If you've got the money go for the x pipe too. Thats where youll pick up the power, the cat back is really only going to give you better sound, the combo will sound GREAT though. I just installed an slp x (o/r) on my car because I got it with the lt headers as a package deal and it sounds great (headers arent on yet). If you want something catted, Ive got my magnaflow catted x for sale in the classifieds section and I live in northern CT.

As for headers, like I said, I have the lts in my garage waiting. Most people say shortys are a waste of money, ive never used them, but I'd think the same. The most power will be picked up with the longtube headers vs any other exhaust component though. Lt header installation is either expensive to have it done or a B*TCH to do yourself...

You'll probably have to cut the stock mufflers off, the stock H pipe unbolts. The aftermarket stuff is bolt on, no welding necessary.

How much HP will I gain from the LT Headers? Also how much will it cost to have them installed?
