i get your feel; anyways im looking at the situation like this

if you with the uppers it gives the car a "fatter, thicker" look

and the lower it makes the car look more thin and allows more of an identification of the presses in the hood..

mm.. its a tough one, i would just look at it in perspective face to face with the hood, do some tape work and see what you like best.

either way i think it will look clean!!..

Thanks for the help guys- Im going to have him just do it in Gold for now, and then see how that looks on the car and then I can mask off and picture the stripes a lot better. Thanks again!
