Lowering Springs
I'm thinkin about gettin 18" Rims over the winter and then lowering the car a bit in the spring when i pull her out again. Can i just buy a set of lowering springs off of american muscle or something and get my mechanic to throw then in and voila my car is lower or do i need to swap some other stuff out as well? What would you guys recommend? Thanks!

RE: Lowering Springs
Depends on how low you go. Get a set of Ford Motorsport B springs, and that's all you need. If you go too much lower, you'll have to get C&C plates, struts, shocks, and a bump steer kit.
EDIT: You'll need an alignment for any amount of drop.

alright thanks....i'd get an alignment anyway. Could lowering the car make an alignment difficult. The tire shop i used to work in did alignments and this little civic came in that was lowered and they couldnt align it without a sh**load of parts.

That's what the C&C plates are for, as well as the bump steer kit...but only for the cars lowered quite a bit. The Ford B springs don't need this.

RE: Lowering Springs
you can do just lowering springs, but if your car has a lot of miles, id do shocks and struts. I did just BBK lowering springs, no shocks or anything, and i havnt had a problem yet. (cost me 175 for instilation + 55 for alignment)

RE: Lowering Springs
a local shop charges around 150 dollars .. just as cheap as buying springs and installing them .. but better ride quality
or just do what I did on my brothers stang and cut them yourself ... not hard..
