**** it dude

i was going to do the same but with the 315 dr's and off road x pipe and loudmouth 1's it kind of gives it away. i have a cobra r bumper and a 4 inch cowl hood, saleen side scoops and wing waiting install/paint but i kind of like the way the GT's look. some times i just look at the car and say damn they look sexy. especially if i pull up to a bank with reflecting windows the car looks pimp. but soon i will paint this stuff and put it on.

on a side not its sets you aside and ppl know you have put time into your car and makes it look different than the everyday GT, you know?

I prefer the sleeper. A like my 03 GT stock with a simple Rear wing replacement to a Steeda, some deep dishes, and a mach 1 chin spoiler and grill delete are bad a$$. It keeps the car looking simple yet nice. I can pull up to an unsuspecting superiorly marketed car and beat him!

I am facing the same scenario. Everyone thinks my sleeperish silver 2000 GT is a 6er, or all of these Neons, Tiburons, Grand Ams, Grand Prix, 05-06 V6's, etc. think they are faster than GT's with exhaust (sure wish I could go quieter with the same performance).

I'm not sure what sleeper class I fall into. I don't mind spending the money but when I go to spend it on looks, I find soemthing that improves performance to spend it on instead. For example, I was going to buy some new wheels and tires for "looks" but decided I'd rather spend the 2k on suspension bits. Then again, I'm married with kids and not trying to pick up chicks with my car, just trying to embarass punks in front of theirs. lol

The problem I have is that I want a reverse cowl induction hood (like the Eleanor and similar designs) but can't find one for the 99-04. Anyone seen one of these or something similar out there?

Mustangs can't be sleepers. Only cars that look slow, example a crown vic with a whipple 4v in it, or a Miata with a five liter in it. Those are true sleepers. You can do the stock apperance with a mustang but never the sleeper imo

At what point do you say f it and give up the sleeper look?

I've been trying to keep my mustang "looking" stock to keep the sleeper look. It's worked great, now the whine of the blower gives it up so I'm thinking I can give up the sleeper look and go with a raised fiberglass hood and some meety D/R's. What do you guys think, try to keep the sleeper look or just say f it?
Sleeper look ftw.

You will be surprised about how many people don't know its a blower

+1

i got a 99 cobra, which is the most bland looking cobra IMO...we just tell everyone who ask what the whistle is its a v-6 with a squeeky belt...and my rice count climbs

hey if u really feel like going with the sleeper look, my friend has a camaro with a cowl hood and other things, but he put random primer marks on his car and parts of the fender to look like some hick-job and gets more races than i do...a LOT more
