Default 01 engine fit in 96

Would a '01 gt engine fit in a 96 gt's engine compartment ?

yes...both modular...as far as i know it should go in without a hitch, be different if u had a 5.0

im no mechanic so feel free to correct me, but i would assume that any 99-04 GT engine would fit in the early SN95's....am i right?

only after 96 because of motor mounts and the K-member...the (sounds quirky) larger modular engine (yes, in pure bulk size it is larger than a 5.0) required different mounts and stuff...the pushrod 5.0 engines of 94-95 wouldnt mount...the beauty of a modular is, dropping a DOHC alumium block or a 5.4L are all mostly direct drop ins too (well...the 5.4 will require a little more coaxing)

ya u can drop a cobra right in, ford has the same motor mounts for the gt and cobra

such great design, now installing this, im good with droping it in and all that but when it comes to the electrial harness what should i do ?

hmmmm, the harness should be the same, the ecu will be tuned diferently if im not mistaken.........not 100% though
