Default Windsor head issue

My Pi swap is taking place on Fri. I have been getting evreything organized and came across this link:
http://www.tccoa.com/articles/engine/index.html#

If you scroll down the page next to the photo that says 4.6 OHC there is a link for Windsor vs Romeo heads.
It says Windsor heads use a high volume oil pump. Will this create a problem for me?
Thanks

I used Windsor heads in my PI swap with a factory oil pump. I had no problems. The only thing is that the bolts that mount the timing cover to the heads are a larger thread than the Romeo heads. That link you mentioned is referring to the Windsor block and heads. That block came with the high volume pump. You can use Windsor heads on a Romeo block (which is what you have) and have no problems.

Did you have to drill a bigger hole in the timing cover?

Good info as I have a windsor block/heads in my car, according to the vin#. Are the two heads the same in design, I mean can romeo heads bolt up to my block w/o problems. I want a set of p&p heads from foxlake and will they ask which heads I have? Just curious in the differences.

No, you just have to use bigger bolts, I believe when I did it I used the bolts for an expedition or something, I forget. I can get the exact measurements if you want, I have a thread gauge and my engine is apart right now so I have access to the bolts. The only difference between windsor and romeo castings is the cam journal caps are different, but that does not affect anything, they just look different. As I mentioned, the timing cover bolts are a larger size, and the valve covers are 13/14 bolt covers on the windsor. You cannot use romeo valve covers with windsor heads and vice versa. My advice is to get the same casting that you have so you won't have to get more parts. If you already have windsor heads, replace them with windsor heads. That way you won't need new valve covers and timing bolts.
