Yea those 96-98 stangs with a good bit of mods should be a good match for you. Especially since you went from a roll. Your WRX has 180awhp if that. Maybe he learned how to drive in between racing you and the EVO.

I raced an Evo with some bolt ons not sure, I know new exhaust system from turbo back I think and a tune. We went from a stop and then a 10mph roll. I had him until about 115-120 ish and just as I was about to shift into 5th he started closing the 2 car gap and right I shifted he walked past me LOL I hate my car when 5th gear comes up

Nope lol thats what I was counting on too haha. Well I still talked **** to him for the speed I did beat him to lol. I know it wasnt stock he said exhaust **** and a tune I dont know how much of an affect it had on his car but yea.
They also have this guy at my college that thinks hes hot **** with an STi with a loud ****ing BOV LOL he always sticks it infront of the parkin lot so people can hear it. I'm gonna race him soon but watch him have like a ****load of mods and spank me lol Ill let you guys know

Haha! That's funny! I bet she was pissed at you! Haha. I've had one encounter with an EVO...
I pulled up next to it and dumped it into 2nd. I jumped at him a few times and it looked like he didn't want to go. So I take it out and put it back into 4th gear. Right when I do that, he dumps it and just goes! Then I dump it back into 2nd and get on it. He took off first, but I immediately stopped his pull and jumped in front of him by less than half a car. His bumper is about where my hood scoop is. .. We're dead locked after that. We get into 3rd and are still locked at the same positions. Neither one of us is pulling on the other. We get about midway through third and then ZOOOOMMM, the EVO goes flying by me! .. I lost. .. But I was surprised the race was even that close. I was in front of him for 90% of the race. He flew by me and got about two cars on me INSTANTLY before he began to brake. It was almost like he got tired of letting me hang with him and just hit the switch on me. But like I said, I was in front of him for the majority of the race, and he took off first. I was JUICED! Haha. ... By the way, I'm STOCK! I have an 03 GT.
