Stock times??

RE: Stock times??
Yea it would help greatly if you reduce your 60ft times. Also dont worry about your reaction time, the clock doesnt start timing your 1/4 mile ET until you break the beam after the 2nd set of stage lights. So relax you dont have to stick it when you see green LOL just work on your 60ft times. Another thing, remember to lower your tire pressure especially if your running on regular street tires, that helps alot.

Well you have to experiment with different RPMs and such to launch at. Never ever just dump your clutch unless you have some drag radials or the like. You should find a point where at that certain RPMs, you should be able to slip out the clutch and the car will grab without bogging down or spinning too much. Your always gonna spin without drag radials or better, but at a certain point most cars have a sweet spot where it'll launch good from.

On street tires and your car setup, I'd lower the tire pressure and try launching anywhere from 2500-3k RPMs. Maybe a little lower, maybe a little higher. Somewhere around there should be decent.

Shifting smoothly and shifting quickly cannot be done at the same time. You gotta bang that gear and get off the clutch ASAP. No smoothness to be found. You will get the hang of it.

cannot agree with this one at all - you should shift smoothly at any rpm - and "banging the gears" is not good or necessary - that just damages your tranny... your going to shift harder bc of the excitment - but if you know have to drive a stick you should be able to beat on it and still shift smoothly w/o excessive wear and tear like that
