It's a restriction in your intake. Plus all the 'swirling' it claims to do is completely disrupted before it makes it's way into the cc.

They don't work, on any car.

I hate poor information & all the members here deserve to get the best information possible, that includes outrageous claims that these MPG toys actually work. Show us dyno sheets from people other than the manufacturers, along with records of the MPG both before & after, with casual driving habits and I'll buy it.

Otherwise, don't spew it unless you can prove it.

v8s use a lot of gas regardless, nothing you can really do. I have full bolt-ons minus long tubes and my mileage didnt get any better, it actually got worse and thats probaly due to my foot being heavier. also to the guy who said flowmaters make your car get better mpg...FALSE. exhaust was my first mod and those flows made my foot twice as heavy! If you want good mileage, thats what the v6 stangs are for, even though they arent that good on gas

The 4.6L is very thrifty with gas, especially considering a hybrid has 1/3 the power and can't double the mileage.

I increased my mileage from 21-22 to 25-26 with intake (March Ram Air/Tunable Induction/Amsoil air filter) and exhaust (Edelbrock RPM catback). It also helps as your engine breaks in and runs more free. I also use Amsoil synthetic oil, which I have seen to increase mileage in some cars, but not across the board (I didn't notice any difference in my '03, but there was a 10-15% difference in my dad's 92 Explorer).
