Just cleaned IAC, car still dies when coming to a stop, etc...any ideas?
Well as the title says, I just got done cleaning out my IAC with wd40 and carb cleaner. Put it back on and fired up the car and let it idle for a bit since I had unplugged the batteryto clear the CEL I have atm. Figured the CEL was from the IAC causing me to die sometimes when coming to a stop, etc. After several minutes I gave the car a small rev, about 2500 rpm and let it come down. When it came down in the rpm's, it died. Then my CEL came back on, anyone have any other ideas? Car has 69.5k miles on it, maybe my IAC is just so nasty inside that I absolutely just have to replace it?
Also, is there a way to check what CEL code I have without paying the 50 bucks or w/e it costs for them to read it with a computer?

carb clleaner should work. you cant let the cleaner go into the electronics so you have to hold the cylinder up to keep it from entering. the cleaner will kill the electrical part.

Sounds like to me that your OX Sensor is giving up. When you are driving down the road your OX Sensor is leaning out the air/fuel ratio to be more fuel efficient. When you come to a light or stop, your OX Sensor reacts to the idle and set the new setting. If your OX Sensor is not seeing the change quick enough the engine will die. But will start right back up and idle some what normal. Your start up mode comes directly from the PCM. Driving or Idle changes after atart up come from the OX Sensor telling your PCM what is needed to maintain engine performance. I would check or replace Oxygen Sensor. I have had more than one car with this same problem that you have discribed.
