supercharger!!
im lookin to supercharge my car within the next year or so...im told your not really suposed to run more than 8 psi on a stock motor but i figure if your gona get a charger why not use it to its full potential...ne way i was wondein if you guys think i should get the charger and run it at 8psi till i build my motor up or build the motor first then throw on the charger so i can run more boost. (probly gona get a pro charger)

RE: supercharger!!
honestly if you can keep the boost down slap the blower on first, youll fall in love with your car all over again, if you gonna get crazy with it then build the motor first, make sure to get a good set of cams and heads

RE: supercharger!!
Its not the boost ammount .. its the ammount of horsepower your motor can handle, ( 400 rwhp on stock 2v 4.6 is max I beleive anyone would say run ) the whole thing with buying an intercooled procharger is that you can be at 10 lbs of boost and only place the stress of 8lbs on the motor.... If you have a new motor, and you are planning on running some higher hp numbers in the future, go ahead and slap the blower on now, and have more of a conservative tune. Then, when you're ready to rebuild the motor with the all the forged goodies, all you have to do is turn the boost up ...

haha .. you know .. I know .. they are just a gimmick that are too expensive .. you can peice together your own kit for alot cheaper .. but you really don't want to tune higher than 400 rwhp on a stock gt block .. thats when you start a guessing game ..

A guessing game like....... Only reputable tunner with the experience should be aloud to mess with your car after this mark.... But even then.... After 400rwhp, its only a matter of time before your bottom end falls out.

the mongoose is a good setup - but its a rip - dont be so focused on labels.... the odds are theyre are at least 5 shops in your local area that can do a good safe tune on your s/c - installing isnt the hard part and neither is tuning actually - but of course average joe doesnt own his own dyno - for peace of mind I would say make sure there is no more than 8lbs going to the motor.. and tune it to 400 rwhp or less - that largely depends on how your a/f is doing but the limit is 450 so 50 less than that seems not to stress it too badly - i am more likely to tune mint to 360-380 rwhp--- bc face it ...even at 400 rwhp your going to be the fastest car on the road - so risk engine life for not much gain in the scheme of things
