Default Question about the auto tranny

My wife has an 01 GT vert. I took it to the store today and decided to get on it. When it changed gears at high rpm it made a squeal sound almost sounded like a blow off valve. Is this normal? If not what could it be? The only mods on the car are 75mm TB and plenum, flowmaster weld ins, and diablo tune.

I have that same noise from time to time. It only happens when I'm completely WOT and only when it shifts from 1st to 2nd. I personally thought it was just a belt since it doesnt do it every time. Its weird though. It might happen tomorrow, and then not happen again for a month...

90% of auto trannys do that. From my wife's Durango, my Dad's Town Car, my brother's Jeep. They all do it at WOT and from the first to second gear shift. I have no idea what it is, but it doesn't hurt anything.

Im gonna drive it again tomorrow and listen but it does only do it from 1st to 2nd gear. I don't deal with auto trannys, I cant stand not having control of what a car does, so I really dont know much about them. I dont see why a belt would slip.

yea when I get one mine real hard from 1st to 2nd it makes that squeal I figured it was the belt slipping so I was gonna do a UDP mod and see if it still does it. If it does then most likely its the tranny can't think of anything else it could be.

Mine does it...The crown vics at work do it from time to time, I've been in Impalas when they do it...whatever it is, its no big deal-nothing to be worried about.
