Yeah I noticed the 500 does have a 3.27 where the 600 is like a 2.8 something first gear.. they offer 2 versions of the 600.. that steep .8 in 5th in one version and a .64 in the other.

So are the output splines on our T-45's 31spline or 28 spline?

ORIGINAL: 2000GT4.6

I am running the spec stage 3. since its not a dd, definatly go with the stage 3. Lots and lots of grabbing power, and if its not a DD who cares if the pedal effort is high.

My trans was like 1750 or 1800 bucks. I got it from D&D performance. They shipped it to my shop. ( shipping was extra from the 1800~ )

The only mod that had to be made was a slight change to the transmission mount, had to cut out a little peice (massaged it in other words) but still used the stocker. I got a adjuster and quadrant to go along with the new clutch (you should too) but other than that all the stuff is stock.

Thats about the price I have been able to find them.. They have one with a .64 5th which would be the one I went with.. but all of them have 31 spline outputs. I am probably thinking axles, but arent the 99+ 28 spline?

And thanks for the link to the conversion kit. Thats not a bad price at all. I may contact the company direct and see what they say about the shifter/clutch questions I have.

Thanks a lot for the help guy's I'll take tons of pics and possibly some short vids when I do the swap with some friends and post them up like I did with the speedcal install how ever long ago that was... Would like to take care of this soon (by the end of december if possible).
If they are all the same then its the stock spline output.

Unless you do a lot of high speed street races, you don't want the .8 5th gear. It's just going to give you worse gas mileage.

Yeah the .8 is a road racing transmission (curvy track setup). You definatly do not want that.

I think that the differen't 1st gears between the 600 and the 500 would be fairly siginficant. But like I said, do you really expect to exceed 500 ft/lbs? (espcially on a centri setup).

Unless I am not remebering right, I have seen a couple 600+ WHP cars on centri setups still only making 500-525 WHP, and its not like its gonna break as soon as you exceed 500 Ft/lbs. I am confident there is a fairly large saftey pad in there.

Edit: the stock 45 is a 3.37 compared to the TKO 500s 3.27, so you should not notice the difference (not alot anyway)

Did you have to change your bellhousing for your tko 500?

Yes, you will need a TKO specific bellhousing.

dang man your right. my 3650 does have the same .62 as the t56...but the tko has a .68 which is gonna make my car rev higher on the highway. but if i get the t56 its a more of a bigger jump in 1st gear which would make my 1st gear slower. the tko is real close to stock in 1st. I dont know which way would be the best to go now. I would get my POS rebuilt but dont wanna risk it breaking again

6 hundredths is not going to make a big difference in the RPM range. I'd still stick with the TKO.

Thanks for the help guys.

At the very least I will get a clutch and save up to pay cash for something.. I would rather not throw it on the CC (What I would do if I got it within the next month). Lol, see exactly how long a T-45 will take a heavy clutch with 405 lbs of torque to the wheels before it cries for its momma... I know its on borrowed time. Lol.
