Actually, the tires that WERE on the front were only 215/45/17. Dont ask me why. The lip of the rim stuck out past the tires. Thats whyI had new ones put on. The tire lines up with the rim now. but the sidewall bows in towards the top of the tire. It looks rediculous. It could be a 10" rim on the rear, as I've got 275's back there and they fit nicely. The front rims and rear rims are the same width, not staggered. That is why I was wondering if anything wider could fit. He swore nothing outside of a 225 could fit without scrubbing.

I use them because it's the only place I ever used. The manager that WAS working there always gave me nice discounts and always made sure I got what I wanted and was happy with it. This was the first time I've used them since he left. I probably wont use them again. But I'm taking the car back to them Thursday morning and telling them Im not happy with the tires and to stick something wider on the front. Whats on there now looks narrower than what came on the car.

As for the rims, I dunno where they were purchased. They came with the car. Thanks for all the input.

because 275 wont fit on a 9 inch
Yes they will, I bought a set of 94/95 GT rims for my ranger, they had 275/40's on 2 of them. Granted its not the proper size rim for that tire but they WILL fit.

You need 245/45/R17s on the front and 275/40/R17s on the back. That will put the biggest size you can easily fit on your rears, and the stock size on the fronts, and they will be the same height

I have 275s on the stock rims, so it will definatly fit on a 9 inch rim.

Isn't 275 recommended as the smallest size to run on 9" wide rims? I would have gone with 275/40/17 all the way around if I were you. I know I have 275/40/17 on the front of my car, on 17x9 wheels.

Whats the stock rim size, 8.5?

If you can fit 275s up front with no problems (rubbing/tracking) I would say go for it.

245s up front and 275s in the rear. Or just run 245s all around.

245s are great if you have the stock 17x8" wheels, but he said he has 17x9" wheels...so 245s would be too small.

You should definately go curse out those ****ers and make them put some 275s on the front too (if you really do have 17x9 wheels).

Cobras come stock with 275 all the way around on their 17x9 wheels, just to put things into perspective.

WRONG. A 245 is about 9.6 inches wide. It'd be perfect. A 275 is 10.8". Of course these values will be a little off with each company, but the Fusions actually have a wide sidewall. Sort of like a "lip/rim protector." 245s would be fine.

Running all the same tire size all the way around is always the better idea, until you start getting past 275. Keeping the size on all 4 corners is best for handeling. I still suggest getting some 275s up front, and make them refund you for the retarded 225s they put on. That's ****in smaller then stock.
