Spec Clutches..
Gonna be replacing that clutch soon on the 98gt. Anyone have any suggestions on which way I should go, king cobra vs spec. I am a college student so $ is a little tight, aside from those reasons any others that anyone can suggest? Any past experiences?
Thanks
Decided on the SPEC clutch, as you can see from the thread name change. Since im still in college and on a limited budget I need some advice. First, am I going to kick myself later if I do not get the SPEC3 and only get the SPEC1. My two options are the SPEC3 only. Or the SPEC1 and possibly the whole steeda kit, Quad, adjuster, etc.
?? I'm stuck and have to buy the clutch today so if anyone can help id appreciate it.
Thanks

RE: King Cobra vs SPEC
SPEC. From what Ive heard from people with King Cobra clutches their throwout bearing squeeks. Just what I heard. I have a SPEC stage 3 clutch and I love it. A little hard to get used to, but once you do, youll hate driving a car with a stock clutch. I love the positive engagement.

RE: King Cobra vs SPEC
will this be your daily driver????
if so, a stage 3 is pretty steep.. a stage 2 is still kinda pushing it, but isn't too bad.. like i said, for a daily driver, i woulnd't recomend a stage 3 IMHO

RE: King Cobra vs SPEC
i was told that its basically a light weight pressure plate. if you are going with a DRAG setup and plan on drag racing, it wouldn't be a good idea. i think the "light weight option" does the same thing as a alum flywheel. it revs alot easier/faster....
