Default top end v. bottom end

Got another noob motor question. Earlier I asked about longblock v. shortblocks. I know I'm not experienced but I gotta learn somehow, can someone explain to me what people say when they say "I'm gonna rebuild my bottom end" or "top end" stuff like that? Thanks.

Top = heads intake cams and such

Top end of the motor and bottom end of the motor. Bottom end is basically everything in the block; Pistons, rods, crankshaft, bearings, etc. Top end is everything ON TOP; heads, intake, camshafts, valves, valve springs, etc.
