hey,
i just got my white face gauges on, but they wont turn on unless the switch connected to the relay is clicked. but the switch is that stupid little button that hangs out onto your dash. My buddy and I are trying to eliminate that.

we've cut off the relay and connected the gauges positive directly to the light **** positive and connected the gauges ground to the frame.

but the gauges wont turn on w/o the on/off button.

so far we can open and close the circuit by thouching the wires together. so they stay on. but when the lights are turned off then turned on, the gauges wont light up!... unless you close the circuit again!

plz help!
we refuse to use the stupid on/off button it came with. and we also dont need the relay.

close the circuite, with a twisty cap, and keep it closed.

we did. but every time the lights are turned off, gauges wont come back on. they need to be re-closed!

we're now in the process of cracking the damn "relay" open and seeing if it is Amping or Resisting the power from the headlight feed.

anyone else have same problem?

thats the site we used to determine what positive feed to use. it looks like they're splicing into two wiries. one big grey one and one little greyish-purple one.

(after re-reading) thats what we're trying to do... the positives are connected and grounds are grounded...but nothing is getting power.

it worked when the relay was hooked up, but it still needed on/off switch to either close or open(re-open) the circuit.

so now we're getting rid of on/off switch and relay and trying to hardwire into the headlight ****...no scuccess

if im not mistaken when i did mines itst he big brown wire that is the positive

post a pic of which gauges u got with the wiring

if you removed the black box (relay u may call it) that is what regulates the power to the gauges....

also on my 01 it was the blue/white wire

i thaught we had it figured out, so i didnt bother taking pics, but now, i wish i did.

my cluster is back in the dash and most of the wiring is at his house.

i've got to close tonight and hes got a date w/ a girl from his work. so it might be a while for the pics.

if you'd like i could do a PaintShop of the diagram...i wish i had pics or a video, but everything is kind of thrown on just so i can drive it right now.

ill take some as soon as i can!
