I did mine my self and it took me the better part of 4 hours. It is worth paying someone $40 IMO. I wish i would of paid someone because I always wonder if I sealed up all the gaps or not cuz it sounds like it leaks at low RPM's
4 hours! Did you do it blindfolded. I installed one on my wifes the other day by myself and it took 20 min including jacking it up and putting it on jack stands. Hell I think I even took a smoke break.

Most big name exhaust shops wont do it cause of the $10,000 fine they can recieve.

I take my exhaust work to a "Billy Bob's Muffler" place (in the words of goldeneagle_10). I think he put on my midpipe for 25 bucks. He's been doing it for years and I don't think I could find somewhere that does it better...

I wasn't talkin about a local shop that you knew that does good work. I was talkin about a shop that just gives you a good quote but does crap work. My dad took his muscle car to one like that in our town and pretty much had to take it off and redo it anyways.

I don't have my cobra yet... I just emailed Amazon awhile back cuz I was interested in what some of their prices were since quite a few reccomended me to them. It just gives the poster of this thread some feedback to go on.

Yea I know what you meant, haha I was just quoting you. I agree with what you were saying... there are a lot of questionable shops out there...

Dude, just do it yourself. Its really easy.

Jack car up- 10 min
Un-bolt bolts with Impact - 2 min
Swap mid-pipes - 5 min
Bolt it back on - 2 min
Put car back down - 5 min

24 Min...done

I also want to make sure that the check engine light doesnt come on. Do MIL eliminators do the trick or is there more to it than that? If somone could explain to me where the MIL eliminators go and what they exactly do it would help me out

Not trying to steal this thread or anything... but, if your going from the Stock H to say for example a Steeda catted X... is there any reason to take it to a tuner afterwards or is it fine just as it is? With the cobra, I would hate to just change it and think I'm alright... only to run into trouble with me being to lazy to take it to get tuned and dynoed.

It would be fine as is. It would be a waste of money to take it to a tuner if you only have a X pipe and plan on modding more in tyhe near future.
