Ok today I put in Mobil 1 Synt 5w-20. When do you guys usually change the oil? How many miles before next servicing?
Also do you change the oil filter every 3,000 like normal or let it go to do with the oil change whenver that is? I would think you still do the filter every 3k or so.

I was told for synthetic you change the oil every 5-6k miles., because it protects the parts alot better than conventional oil, which is usually changed every 3k miles.

I use the Mobil 5000 ****, which is supposed to last to 5000 miles, but im very, very **** about changing oil so i do it at 3000 anyway lol..

I did the same in my last car......................... 5k is still along time no matter what kind of oil your using.

Yea it is, thats why i changed it early anyway. I dont trust the label.

i do mobil 1 every 3k and m1210 every change, so filter and change every 3k

I change my oil every six months. I usually don't put 6000 miles on it before six months is up so I go by time.

I change my mobil 1 full synthetic every 3k miles, cleaner the oil = happier the engine!

I too am **** about oil and I do new oil and filter every 3k on the dot for every car I've ever owned, no matter what brand or weight is in the car. I don't trust any label that claims it's good for over 3k miles; let the soccer moms who don't even know what oil does run that crap for 5k or 10k. I prefer to keep my engine in tip top shape.

I use the FRAM filters, which people say are crap but I've never had a real problem with; all the stores around here sell are FRAM and Motorcraft and I'm not really motivated enough to buy my oil filters over the internet.
