Default is this true?

the fallowing is a word for word quote taken from brenspeed.com under the pypes x pipe information : "x pipes create more power and torque than a h-pipe b.ecause they merge your exhause pulses at the "x" . traditional h-pipes loose this ability above 3,000 rpm's, and the h becomes non-functional."

is that true?? more power AND torque?? h becomes non functional after 3k rpm's??

[sm=bs.gif] The comparison of power and torque is minimal... whoever told you that, needs to go flush their head in a toilet because they are full of ****.

its true and false

its true that the x-pipe will give you more hp (i dont know about tq)

its false bc the x-pipe might give you 1.2 more hp at best

as for an h-pipe being "useless" after 3k rpm, thats just bs

You'll see more peak HP with the x-pipe.

You'll see more hp/tq down low with an H-pipe.

Either way, whichever mid-pipe you choose isn't going to keep you from winning or losing a close race.

I'm pretty sure Brenspeed.com is just using the manufacturers description & not his own for many of his products. If you are looking for more concrete answers, call Brent. He has an in-house dyno and is very experienced.

actually it's not after a certain speed. it's at wot. the exhaust gases are passing through the exhaust system faster than it can cross the connecting pipe. an x pipe is proven to be better for the 1/4. it's just really not enough to justify using it is all imo unless you just want one. i will be using an x pipe when i upgrade my exhaust though.

There isn't much of a difference in power between the two. Like Dan said, xpipe will give you more hp up top, but the h pipe will give you more power down low... depends on what you're looking for. Also hpipe has a deep sound, where as xpipe has a raspy sound almost like nascar.

They say xpipe sounds better with non chambered mufflers, and hpipe is better with chambered mufflers.
