What do you mean by blow by? I do not understand. The engine still runs great...and doesn't smoke?
Blowby is when the compressed gasses on the top of the piston slip by due to wear in the parts and end up in the crankcase.
The PCV system is designed to recycle these gasses and oil vapor and burn it along with fuel.
The classic symptom of a worn engine is blowby and excessive oil consumption.
This is not as bad as it sounds and the motor can run a real long time like this.
You just have to keep on top of the PCV system, keep it cleam, and possibly use an oil for high mileage cars.

are you blowing smoke? blue in color when you first start the car? that blow by. when your pistons oil rings dont seat and oil enters the combustion chamber. your mustang sould not be using any oil at all. check you water for oil it has to be going somewhere. I perfer a puddle in the drive way at least I know whats going on. [8D]

NOT 5w-30
not 5W-30? is that just for synthetic grade, or all? I'm using the Motorcraft 5W-30 (been using it for about a year) so far so good here. [:-]

My 96 did the same thing started with about 80k miles. If I let it sit at idle for about 4-5 min. Then hit the gas it would leave a nice trail of smoke. But that's the only time it would smoke. It was pretty much stock and still turned a 14.8. But, I was told that it was caused by the valve seals.
