AUTOMATICS/HIGH STALL CONVERTER?
I have been searching a good part of the day and cannot find a good high stall converter for the 4R70W. Stall required would be near 4000rpm's. The stock stall is 2800rpm's. It seems that there are converters out there but they cannot be locked in 2nd gear which is where time is taken off the 1/4. Suggestions on what has worked for you? Thanks, mark

Hard to find a good stall for an AOD. I'll look around for ya. I am doing a Powerglide on the 92 with a 4000 stall. I have been doing alot of research, so lemme see what I can find for ya.

Thanks. I found some info a bit dated but it seems that Circle D and BC Automotive are the 2 that have 4K stall converters that will lock up in 2nd gear and take the torque. 9.5" converters. Not cheap, around $900. Mark

Darrin and Alan are very good at what they do. I'm saving now for a complete built tranny from BC.

RE: AUTOMATICS/HIGH STALL CONVERTER?
I thought it was 1800 but did some research and both the GT and the Marauder both have an 11.25" converter with a stall range from 2500-2800. I got my car in 2nd on a steep hill and goosed the throttle and got 2500/2600rpm's before much movement. There's a Thunderbird forum with a lot of converter info. I will get an exact price quote on monday for what I am looking for. Mark

I thought it was 1800 myself. I just bought a 2400-2600 "high stall". WTF?
