Default wheels...

I recently purchased a '96 gt and put a couple mods on it and now it's time for the wheels. My tire size is 245/45-17 and i would like to buy new wheels to fit those tires. I would like some suggestions on which wheels to get. Remember, i would like to keep the tires that i already have so if you could, help me find some wheels that will fit 245/45-17.

Thanks.

If you are going to keep that tire you are pretty much limited to any rim that is 17x8

yea if you want an aftermarket rim then you might want to look into new tires....nothin sets off a mustang more than a set of fatties in the back

yes you can run a 17 x 9. Alot of people around my home town run 245/45s on a 17 x 9. Some people recommend not to, but I really see no issue, the wheel looks fine on the tire. Thats whats on the front of my car. If you buy 17 x 8 anything you'll be dissapointed with the stance, also you may want to consider going with 17 x 10.5s on the back and buying tires for the back only... gives them a mean look.

I found some 17 x 9's that i like. The specs are 17 x 9, 5x4.5" 24mm. Would these wheels fit my 245/45-17 tires?

20x9 front & 20x10 beep dish chrome on rear is the only way to go.

You really should get 17x10.5`s for the rear. You`ll be happy if you do. As long as your getting new rims, thats the way you should go. Just my .02
